Lady Cat Volleyball Earns Sweep at Shepherd

The Lady Cat volleyball team made it a season sweep over WVIAC rival Shepherd (WV) University with a three-games-to-none road win Tuesday night. Junior middle hitter Casey Jo Ritenour (Latrobe, Pa.) had eight kills to lead Pitt Johnstown, which improved to 9-11 overall and evened its record at 6-6 in WVIAC play.
Head Coach Linda Renzi's team, which also swept Shepherd on September 12 in the Sports Center, earned the three-game sweep on Tuesday with 30-21, 30-18 and 31-29 victories.
Sophomore middle hitter Megan Lasut (Central City, Pa.) had eight kills and five block assists, while freshman setter Taylor King (York, Pa.) collected a team-high 23 assists in the win.
With the loss, Shepherd fell to 7-17 overall and 3-9 in the WVIAC.
The Lady Cats host a non-conference match against the University of the District of Columbia on Sunday at 2:00 p.m., before traveling to Mount Aloysius College for another non-conference match on Monday.
