Volleyball Suffers 3-0 Loss to West Virginia State

Head Coach Linda Renzi's Lady Cat volleyball team wrapped up Saturday's split doubleheader in the Sports Center with a three-games-to-none loss to West Virginia State University. Abby Gearhart (Elton, Pa.), Megan Lasut (Central City, Pa.) and Nicole Houser (Penn Run, Pa.) all had eight kills for Pitt Johnstown, now 12-13 overall and 7-8 in the WVIAC.
Along with her eight kills, Lasut had one block solo and four block assists, while Gearhart and Houser each had two block assists. Junior Casey Jo Ritenour (Latrobe, Pa.) added four kills and three block assists, and freshman Taylor King (York, Pa.) had 34 set assists in the loss.
With the victory, West Virginia State improved to 18-13 overall and 13-3 in the WVIAC.
The Lady Cats will finish the 2007 regular season with road matches at Fairmont State (WV) University on Wednesday, Concord (WV) University on Friday and Bluefield State (WV) College on Saturday.
