Lady Cat Volleyball Sweeps Salem International

Sophomore middle hitter Megan Lasut (Central City, Pa.) had 10 kills, three block solos and a pair of block assists to lead the Lady Cat volleyball team to a 30-26, 30-13, 30-20 sweep over visiting Salem International (WV) University, Saturday afternoon in the Sports Center. Pitt Johnstown evened its overall record at 12-12 and its WVIAC record at 7-7.
Junior Casey Jo Ritenour (Latrobe, Pa.) and sophomore Abby Gearhart (Elton, Pa.) each had seven kills, while freshman Taylor Hrescak (Johnstown, Pa.) added five kills. Gearhart also had a team-high nine digs. Freshman Taylor King (York, Pa.) collected 27 set assists, and junior Katie Shadron (Ligonier, Pa.) added four service aces and five digs in the victory.
With the loss, Salem International dropped to 2-21 overall and 1-14 in WVIAC play.
