Volleyball Dealt 3-1 Loss at Fairmont State

Sophomore middle hitter Megan Lasut (Central City, Pa.) collected a team-high 13 kills, but the Lady Cat volleyball team suffered a three-games-to-one loss at Fairmont State (WV) University in WVIAC play, Wednesday night. Pitt Johnstown is now 12-14 overall and 7-9 in the WVIAC.
The Lady Cats dropped the first two games, 30-28 and 30-26, before earning a 30-27 win in game three. However, the Lady Falcons secured the win with a 30-23 win in game four.
Along with Lasut, freshman Taylor Hrescak (Johnstown, Pa.) had 11 kills, while junior Kayla Lape (Fishertown, Pa.) and sophomore Nicole Houser (Penn Run, Pa.) added nine kills apiece. Abby Gearhart (Elton, Pa.) and Katie Shadron (Ligonier, Pa.) paced pitt johnstown with 22 and 16 digs, respectively.
With the win, Fairmont State improved to 10-19 overall and 10-7 in the WVIAC.
The Lady Cats will finish the 2007 regular season with road matches at Concord (WV) University on Friday and Bluefield State (WV) College on Saturday.
