Volleyball Earns Sweep at Bluefield State

Junior middle hitter Kayla Lape (Fishertown, Pa.) had 10 kills to lead the Lady Cat volleyball team to its second sweep in as many days. This time, Pitt Johnstown earned a 30-19, 30-14, 30-10 sweep at Bluefield State (WV) College on Saturday to finish the regular season with a 14-14 overall record and a 9-9 record in the WVIAC.
Along with Lape, sophomore Megan Lasut (Central City, Pa.) had nine kills, and freshman Taylor Hrescak (Johnstown, Pa.) added eight kills. Head Coach Linda Renzi also got 41 assists from freshman Taylor King (York, Pa.) and 17 digs from junior Katie Shadron (Ligonier, Pa.).
With the loss, Bluefield State dropped to 0-20 overall and 0-17 in the WVIAC.
The Lady Cats travel to Charleston, WV for the 2007 WVIAC Tournament on Thursday.
