Bloomsburg University bounced back from an early seven-point deficit with a 37-18 first-half run, before pulling away in the second half in a 90-64 victory over the Lady Cats, Saturday afternoon in Bloomsburg.Â
Nicole Carman scored 17 points, and
Leah Hansen added 13 points to lead Pitt-Johnstown, now 5-8.

A pair of 3-pointers each from
Kelsey Sleighter and
Kayla DeCriscio, followed by a conventional 3-point play by Hansen gave the Lady Cats an early 15-8 lead.

Bloomsburg answered with a 12-2 run over the next 2:43 to regain a lead it would never give up. Adrian Sadowski tied it at 15, and Catherine Noack's 3-pointer put the Huskies up 20-17 midway through the first half.

Pitt-Johnstown was able to cut it to one on two of Hansen's 13 first half points, but Bloomsburg outscored the Lady Cats 12-5 in the next five minutes to build a 12-point advantage. Sadowski, who scored 16 points in the first half, pushed the lead into double digits, before another 3-pointer from Noack made it 45-33 at the 2:17 mark.

Two Hansen late free-throws narrowed Pitt-Johnstown's deficit to 47-38 at the half.

Eight straight points by the Huskies to open the second half built the lead to 15, before Carman netted 10 of Pitt-Johnstown's next 12 points to cut it to 59-50 at 14:40.

However, Bloomsburg broke it open with a 14-0 spurt that extended it to 73-50 on a Brianna Dudeck bucket at 10:06, and the Huskies never looked back.

Carman scored 14 of her team-high 17 points in the second half and grabbed five rebounds to lead the Lady Cats. Hansen finished with 13 points, while
Jasmine Harper collected nine points and nine rebounds. Pitt-Johnstown also got nine points from DeCriscio and eight points from Sleighter in the loss.

With four more rebounds Johnson stands in 22
nd-place on the Lady Cat All-Time Rebounding List with 529. Johnson is three rebounds shy of LuAnn Ketter (1980-84) for 21
st place on the list.

Pitt-Johnstown was held to 37.5% (21-56) shooting for the game. The Lady Cats hit 9-19 from behind the 3-point line and 13-19 from the free-throw line. Bloomsburg finished the day shooting 54.2 (39-72) from the floor, 3-7 from 3-point range, and 9-14 from the charity stripe.

Sadowski game-high 30 points and six rebounds led Bloomsburg. Jocelyn Ford scored 16 points, and Noack tallied 14 points and six rebounds to pace the Huskies, who made in four wins in their last five games and improved to 9-3 on the season.

The Lady Cats host a doubleheader with the Mountain Cats against East Stroudsburg University on Wednesday starting at 5:30 p.m., before hosting a PSAC doubleheader with the men's team on Saturday against California University (PA) starting at 1 p.m. in the Sports Center.
