Kendall Mahony collected 19 kills, and
Cambria Wierman added 14 kills to lead, but Edinboro battled back from a two-set deficit to defeat the Lady Cats in five sets, Saturday morning at the PSAC Crossover in Edinboro. Pitt-Johnstown is now 10-7 overall and 6-6 in the PSAC East.
The Lady Cats grasped a close win in the first set, finishing 27-25, collecting a total of 12 kills. Maintaining their lead, Pitt-Johnstown ended the second set with a 25-20 set advantage, adding 11 more kills.
In the third set, the Lady Cats fell short in a 26-24.
After staving off elimination, the Fighting Scots went on to win the final two sets, including a 15-12 win in the fifth set to secure the win.
Delaney Roman aided the Lady Cats with nine kills, 15 digs and 15 assists.
Nikki Oakes gathered 29 assists, while Wierman collected 13 digs and three blocks, to go along with her 14 kills.
Nicole Curran and Oakes both chipped in ten digs, while
Madeline George added four kills and four blocks.
Tabitha Meeks led the Fighting Scots to victory with 19 kills, placing Edinboro 16-6 overall, and 8-4 in the PSAC.
