Cambria Wierman led Pitt-Johnstown with nine kills, but Mercyhurst swept the Lady Cats 25-22, 25-13, 25-16 to close out Saturday's PSAC Crossover in Edinboro. Pitt-Johnstown has dropped to 10-8 overall and 6-7 in the PSAC.
The Lady Cat delivered ten kills to the Lakers in the first set, only falling short by three points to lose the set 22-25. Mercyhurst pulled away for a 25-13 win in the second set, before completing the sweep with a 25-16 victory.
Madeline George collected seven kills for Pitt-Johnstown, and Kendall Mahony added six kills. Both Larissa Swank and Delaney Roman had two kills apiece for the Lady Cats.
Devan Orr had 25 digs, and Roman added eight. Additionally, Nicole Curran finished with 12 assists and seven digs, while Nikki Oakes chipped in ten assists and six digs.
Sarah Wegrzyn led Mercyhurst with 13 kills to help the Lakers improve to 14-6 overall and 9-4 in the PSAC.
The Lady Cats travel to West Liberty (WV) for a non-conference match on Wednesday. Pitt-Johnstown will return home to host PSAC matches against Millersville on Friday at 7 p.m. and Shippensburg on Saturday at 1 p.m.
