Mike Drahos and the Pitt-Johnstown women's basketball program have added four recruits for the 2014-15 season, including local standout and 2014 PIAA A All-State selection

 "We are extremely excited for our 2014 recruiting class to join our basketball program,"
Coach Drahos said. "As a coaching staff, we really tried to identify kids who we thought had a strong work ethic and a fast motor, and I think we accomplished that goal with this class. All four recruits are talented players on the court, good students in the classroom, and above everything else, are great people. Â They are high character individuals who want to win."Â

Olivia McCabe   Freshman    Forward    6'0"    Portage, Pa. / Portage Area High School    Â
Olivia McCabe, a four-year starter and two-year team captain, averaged 15 points, 11.9 rebounds, and 3.8 blocks per game on her way to becoming Portage Area High School's first ever PIAA A All-State selection following her senior season in 2013-14.
     McCabe, who led Portage to back-to-back West-Pac Conference titles and a District 6 Championship in 2014, is Portage's second all-time leading scorer with 1,516 points. She all holds the school record in rebounding with 1,200 and blocked shots with 381.
     McCabe was a two-time Johnstown
Tribune-Democrat "Fab Five Player of the year, a 2014 First-Team
Altoona Mirror choice, and a three-time
Altoona Mirror Player of the Week selection. She was named the Most Valuable Player at the 2014
Ameriserv Senior All-Star Showcase and the recipient of the U.S. Marine Corps Distinguished Athlete Award.
     In addition to basketball, McCabe was and all-conference selection in both volleyball and track and field, and an All-District 6 choice in volleyball in 2013.
     McCabe is the daughter of Bradley and Kristie McCabe. She was coached by Lance Hudak at Portage Area High School.
           "Olivia is a long athletic forward who loves to rebound and can run the floor as well as anyone,"
Drahos said. "She has unlimited potential and we think she has a bright future at Pitt-Johnstown."

Agnese Aramina    Junior    Forward    6'1"   Riga, Latvia / Ilguciema Secondary School    Â
Agnese Aramina, a native of Riga Latvia, came to the Lady Cat basketball team after playing one year at Colby Community College in Colby, Kan., and one year at Cloud Community College in Concordia, Kan. Aramina averaged  She averaged 10 points and six rebounds, including a 25-point performance against Lamar (CO) Community College as a freshman at Colby.
     In the classroom, Aramina was an Academic Honor student at both Colby and Cloud Community Colleges.
     Aramina is the daughter of Inta Aramina. She was coached by Brady Jasper at Colby Community College and Brent Erkanbrack at Cloud Community College.
     "Agnese is a strong forward who can do a little bit of everything. Being a transfer, she brings a bit of maturity to our program and a fair amount of knowledge from her vast experience,"

Taylor Brennan    Freshman      Guard       5'4"      Wexford, Pa. / North Allegheny High School    Â
Taylor Brennan, was a four-year letter-winner at North Allegheny High School where she averaged 10 points, two rebounds, four assists, and three steals per game as a senior on her way to being named First-Team AAAA All-WPIAL.
     Brennan, who helped guide North Allegheny to the PIAA AAAA State Semifinals in 2014, finished her four-year high school career with over 850 points.
     Brennan is the daughter of Kevin and Donna Brennan. She was coached by Sherri McConnell at North Allegheny High School.
     "Taylor is a hardworking, tough as nails utility guard" said
Drahos. "She never backs down from a challenge and is always looking to push herself and her teammates."

Nicole Corcoran Freshman  Guard  5'8" Pittsburgh, Pa./Baldwin-Whitehall High School    Â
Nicole Corcoran was a four-year letter-winner and two-year team captain at Baldwin-Whitehall High School. Corcoran, a Second-Team All-WPIAL selection averaged 10 points and 2.5 rebounds per game as a senior in 2013-14.
     Corcoran finished her high school career with over 750 points and 250 rebounds
    Corcoran is the daughter of Robert and Lisa Corcoran. She was coached by Gavin Prosser at Baldwin-Whitehall High School.
     "Nikki is a long shooting guard who can light it up from the outside. She can be as good as she wants to be and we are excited to see what she will do in her four years,"

Pitt-Johnstown tips-off the 2014-15 season at the Davis & Elkins College tournament on November 14-15, before opening its second season in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) against Clarion University on November 19 in the Sports Center.Â
