The Lady Cat volleyball team extended its unbeaten streak to seven consecutive matches with a 3-sets-to-one non-conference win at Atlantic Region No. 10 Shepherd (WV) University on Tuesday.Â
Cambria Wierman had 17 kills and 17 digs for Pitt-Johnstown, which improved to 18-11 on the year.

After falling behind by two early in the opening set, the Lady Cats used an 8-3 run to go up 13-10. Pitt-Johnstown built the lead to 22-15, but Shepherd answered with an 8-1 run of its own to tie it at 23. The Rams then fought off three set points, before the Lady Cats were able to win the set, 28-26 on a Wierman kill.

In set two, Pitt-Johnstown outscored Shepherd 12-4 to erase a four-point deficit and take a 12-8 lead. The Rams narrowed it to 13-11, but a kill by
Nikki Oakes extended it to five, and the Lady Cats coasted to a 25-19 victory to go up 2-sets-to-none.

Looking to complete the sweep, Pitt-Johnstown climbed out to a 9-6 advantage in the third set. Shepherd countered with a 16-6 run to go in front by seven and kept its hopes alive with a 25-22 win.

In a tight fourth set that saw the Lady Cats trail by one at 19-18, Pitt-Johnstown gained control to outscore Shepherd 7-2 to close out match with a 25-21 victory over the region's 10
th-ranked team.

Along with Wierman,
Kendall Mahony had 11 kills, a block solo and three block assists, and
Madeline George added eight kills, three block solos and three block assists.

Oakes and
Nicole Curran led the way for the Lady Cats with 24 and 19 set assists, respectively, and
Devan Orr had a match-high 26 digs.

The Rams, losers of the straight matches and 16-11 on the season, got 17 kills from Kayleigh Helgesen and 16 kills from Valerie Belella.

The Lady Cats close out the 2014 regular season with road conference matches at Shippensburg on Friday and at Millersville on Saturday, before beginning the PSAC Tournament on Tuesday.Â
