Volleyball Downs Roberts Wesleyan at St. Rose Tri-Match

After suffering a five sets loss to open Saturday's College of Saint Rose Tri-Match in Albany, NY, the Lady Cat volleyball team got 18 kills from Marissa Erminio to rebound with a 3-sets-to-2 victory over Roberts Wesleyan (NY) College.  Pitt-Johnstown improved to 4-1 on the year.

Pitt-Johnstown defeated Roberts Wesleyan 15-25, 25-22, 17-25, 25-20, and 15-8.

Erminio finished with a match-high 18 kills, 10 digs, and a pair of block assists.  Delaney Roman added 13 kills and nine digs, while Kendall Mahony had 12 kills, a block solo, four block assists, and eight service aces.

Nikki Oakes led the Lady Cats with 33 set assists, and Nicole Curran tallied 21 assists.  Devan Orr's 13 digs led the way for Pitt-Johnstown.

Kendall Havener had 16 kills and Courtney Taylor collected 13 kills to pace Roberts Wesleyan, which slipped to 4-2.

Pitt-Johnstown opens its conference with four matches at the PSAC Crossover in Shippensburg next weekend, before kicking off its home schedule with PSAC matches against Kutztown on September 26 and East Stroudsburg on September 27 in the Sports Center.
