Box Score The Lady Cats used 14 3-pointers, including seven from
Kelsey Sleighter, to snap a three-game losing skid with an 87-79 PSAC Crossover victory at Cheyney on Sunday. Sleighter's 21 points Pitt-Johnstown, now 8-5 overall and 5-4 in the PSAC Western Division.

The Lady Cats started fast and hit 11 first half 3-pointers. Sleighter knocked down three 3-pointers and
Nicole Carman hit two from long range to help Pitt-Johnstown run out to a 17-8 lead five minutes into the game.

Cheyney came back to cut it to 25-21 on a Taschell Phillips bucket at the 11-minute mark, but the Lady Cats got a 3-pointer from
Leah Hansen two minutes later to extent their lead back out to eight.

However, Pitt-Johnstown could not pull away. The Lady Wolves answered with a 10-2 run over the next three minutes to knot it at 33 on Aerie DeJesus' basket in the paint.

Another DeJesus basket with 2:21 remaining put the Lady Wolves in front by three, but Pitt-Johnstown got 3-pointers from
Olivia Rizzo and
Nicole Corcoran to regain the lead, before Phillips' jumper late in the half tied it at 46.

The Lady Cats came out and outscored Cheyney 27-14 over the first 10 minutes of the second half to build their largest lead of the day. Carman's layup extended it back into double digits, before a Carman 3-pointer and a basket from
Jamie Tabon built the lead to 73-60.

Cheyney came back again. This time with a 14-4 spurt to get to within three at 77-74 on Phillips' jumper with 3:44 to play.

Pitt-Johnstown didn't let it get any closer. The Lady Cats used a 3-pointer from Sleighter and connected on 5-of-6 from the free-throw line down the stretch to rebuild the lead to 87-77, before holding off the Lady Wolves by eight.

Sleighter's 21 points, all on 3-pointers, led four Lady Cats who scored in double figures. Carman had 15 points and six rebounds, and
Jasmine Harper added a double-double of 13 points and a game-high 10 rebounds. Pitt-Johnstown also got 11 points and six assists from Dominique and six points and a career-high nine assists from Rizzo in the victory.

Pitt-Johnstown shot 45.9% (28-61) from the floor, 14-37 from 3-point range, and 17-21 from the free-throw line. Cheyney ended the day shooting 52.2% (33-63) from the floor, but just 2-12 from behind the 3-point line and just 11-20 from the charity stripe.

Phillips scored a game-high 23 points, and Kyra Hines-Allen chipped-in 14 points to lead the Lady Wolves, who fell to 2-11 overall and 2-6 in the PSAC Eastern Division.

The Lady Cats return home to host a conference crossover doubleheader with the Mountain Cats against Millersville on Wednesday and a PSAC Western Division doubleheader against Gannon on January 14. The Lady Cats will tip-off both doubleheaders at 5:30 p.m. in the Sports Center, followed by the men's game at 7:30 p.m.Â
