Kendall Mahony had team-highs of nine kills and four blocks, but the Pitt-Johnstown volleyball team fell in straight sets, 25-19, 25-15, 25-18, to the host school in Friday's second round of the 2015 University of Findlay TownPlace Suites Classic. Pitt-Johnstown suffered its first loss of the season and slipped to 4-1.

Pitt-Johnstown took advantage of four service aces and three kills apiece from
Cambria Wierman and
Kendall Mahony to build a 12-5 lead to tip-off the match. Findlay stormed back with a 10-1 run, capped by a Hannah Tong Kill, to take the lead 15-13, but kills by
Marissa Erminio and Mahony tied it at 15. The Oilers pushed it out to 23-18 and went on to take the set, 25-19 on Madelyn McCabe's service ace.

Cambria Wierman's kill cut a six-point Pitt-Johnstown deficit to start the second set to 9-7, but Findlay regained control and pulled away for a 25-15 win. The Oilers outscored the Lady Cats 13-4 to extend the lead to 22-11, before kills from Tong and Nickyla Garverick gave Findlay the 10-point victory.

Findlay scored five straight points to keep the momentum to begin the third set. Erminio's kill ended a quick 4-0 Lady Cat run to make it 5-4. It remained close, as Pitt-Johnstown cut the Oilers' lead down to one on five occasions, with the last coming on Mahony's kill that made it 16-15. However, Findlay closed out the match on a 9-3 run to complete the sweep, 25-18.

Cambria Wierman had six kills and five digs, while
Maura Brehl and Erminio added six kills apiece for Pitt-Johnstown.

Kendall Mahony collected 13 set assists, and
Devan Orr had 16 digs for the Lady Cats.

Findlay got a match-high 13 kills from Tong and nine kills from Garverick to help the Oilers improve to 4-2.

The Lady  Cats wrap-up the Findlay Classic on Saturday against Hillsdale (MI) College and Ursuline (OH) College, before making their 2015 home debut against West Liberty (WV) University on Tuesday at 7 p.m. in the Sports Center.Â
