Maura Brehl had 14 kills, and
Kendall Mahony added 13 kills in a 3-sets-to-1 victory over Edinboro University that capped a perfect 4-0 weekend for the Lady Cat volleyball team at Saturday's 2015 PSAC Crossover in Erie. Pitt-Johnstown raised its overall record to 10-2 and remained unbeated in the PSAC at 4-0.
After Pitt-Johnstown won the first two sets 25-21 and 25-23, Edinboro stayed alive with a 26-24 win in the third set. However, the Lady Cats bounced right back with a 25-16 victory to close out the 3-sets-to-1 win.
Four Pitt-Johnstown players finished in double figures in kills and combined for 49 of the 56 total kills. In addition to Brehl (14 kills) and Mahony (13 kills),
Cambria Wierman had 11 kills, 12 digs, and three service aces, and
Marissa Erminio had 11 kills, five digs and a block for the Lady Cats.
Mahony also had five blocks to go along with her 13 kills, while
Allison Mondorff collected 26 set assists, five digs and four service aces.Â
Jessica Dillon chipped-in 21 assists and seven digs, and
Devan Orr tallied a match-high 25 digs for Pitt-Johnstown.
Edinboro was led by Challen Litwiler's match-high 17 kills and 14 digs, ans Sydney Trathen's seven kills, 29 assists and six digs.
The Lady Cats return home to host PSAC matches in the Sports Center against Millersville University Friday at 7 p.m. and Shippensburg University on Saturday at 1 p.m.Â
