Wrestling with two starters out of the line-up due to injury, the fourth-ranked Pitt-Johnstown wrestlers got a win by Tyler Reinhart over fifth-ranked Matt Vandermeer at 165 lbs. and a fall from second-ranked Travis McKillop at 184 lbs. to build an 11-point lead in a 27-13 victory at No. 9 Lake Erie (OH) College on Friday.  The Mountain Cats improved to 9-1 on the season.
 
A forfeit win by Evan Link at 125 lbs, and a 4-2 decision by Nick Roberts at 133 lbs., gave Pitt-Johnstown an early 9-0 lead.
 
Lake Erie got right back in it with wins at 141 and 149 lbs.  Joshua Davis scored a 10-2 major decision over Joe Davis, who filled in for two-time National Qualifier Sam Hanau, and Nick Boggs defeated Luke Palamides, who replaced starter Travis Shaffer, 8-4, to narrow the Storm's gap to 9-7.
 
A 6-1 win by Pitt-Johnstown's Devin Austin at 157 lbs., increased the Mountain Cats' lead to 12-7 at the halfway mark of the match.
 
Pitt-Johnstown then got a big victory from Reinhart at 165 lbs.  Reinhart opened-up a 4-2 lead after two periods and added a point for riding time to defeat fifth-ranked Matt Vandermeer, 5-2 and keep the Mountain cats rolling.
 
The Storm got a 5-2 win by eighth-ranked Nick Vandermeer over John Blankenship at 174 lbs. to cut it to 15-10, but second-ranked McKillop pinned Tyler Hughes with 17 second left in the first period to extend it to 21-10 and nearly seal the Pitt-Johnstown victory.
 
Lake Erie needed falls in the last two bouts to overcome the 11-point deficit.  It wasn't to be.  Eighth-ranked Evan Rosborough won a 7-2 decision over Jacob Hart at 197 lbs. to narrow it to 21-13, but Pitt-Johnstown's third-ranked D.J. Sims slammed the door on the Storm with a fall at 4:22 over Noah Hosking to close out the 27-13 win.
 
With the loss, Lake Erie slipped to 6-5.
 
The Mountain Cats travel to a PSAC match at Seton Hill University on Wednesday, before returning home to host a conference match against Gannon University on Friday at 7 p.m. in the Sports Center.
