Colin Michalski scored a pair of goals, but it was
Erik Etter's goal five minutes into the first overtime that lifted the Mountain Cat soccer team to 3-2 non-conference victory over Daemen (NY) College, Tuesday afternoon at the Pitt-Johnstown Soccer Field. The Mountain Cats have won three of its last four matches and improved to 4-8-0 on the season.
The Mountain Cats got off to a quick shot with three shots in the first two minutes, but it was Daemen's Colin Edwards'who gave the Wildcats a 1-0 lead with a penalty kick goal at three-minute mark.
Pitt-Johnstown answered right back on Michalski's fifth goal of the year and first of the match off of an assist from
Jeremy Scheffel three minutes later, but Ali Shawish gave Daemen a 2-1 halftime advantage when he finished Nate Lauk's through ball from midfield in the 12
th minute.
Michalski scored his second goal of the match off of
Darrell Rodgers' assist in the 73
rd minute to know it at two.

Then with 4:49 remaining in the first overtime, Etter's header off of a cross from
D.J. Vogelman found the back of the net behind Daemen goalkeeper Steve Geffert for the match-winner.
Nate Kleya picked up the win for Pitt-Johnstown after facing 19 shots, making three saves, and allowing a pair of goals. Geffert took the loss for the Wildcats. Geffert saw 13 Mountain Cats shots and made two saves.
With the loss, Daemen fell to 2-12-0 on the year.
Pitt-Johnstown will host a PSAC match against Bloomsburg on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. at the Pitt-Johnstown Soccer Field, before traveling to a conference match at California (PA) on October 19.
