Kendall Mahony had eight kills, five services aces, and three blocks, and
Maura Brehl added seven kills to lead a balanced Pitt-Johnstown volleyball attack to a 25-20, 25-9, 25-14 PSAC Central Division sweep over Lock Haven University, Tuesday night in the Sports Center. The Lady Cats made it six straight wins and improved to 13-5 overall and 6-1 in conference-play.

In a tight first set that saw neither team gain any momentum until late, Lock Haven went in front 18-16 on a Kristen Nealon service ace, but Pitt-Johnstown finished strong. The Lady Cats outscored the Bald Eagles 9-2 to claim the 25-20 win. After falling behind by a pair, three straight points gave the lead back to Pitt-Johnstown at 19-18 on Mahony's ace. Pitt-Johnstown made it 23-20 on Brehl's kill,
Cambria Wierman and Brehl combined for back-to-back kills to end it.

The Lady Cats started the second set fast and never looked back. Three kills from
Marissa Erminio helped Pitt-Johnstown climb out to a 6-1 lead, before a kill from Mahony and an ace
Delaney Roman increased it to 16-5. The Lady Cats went on to outscore Lock Haven 9-4, including getting a kill from
Sydney Sumner, that ended the 25-9 victory.

In the final set, a kill from Sarah Gomish and a Pitt-Johnstown error gave the Bald Eagles an early 4-1 advantage, but Pitt-Johnstown stormed back with a 9-1 run, capped by a
Tatiana Pitcher kill and two Lock Haven errors, to go up 10-5. Consecutive Gomish aces narrowed the gap to 10-8. Pitt-Johnstown regained control and built the lead to 19-10 on
Noelle Carota's kill, before closing out the three set sweep with a 25-14 win on another Carota kill.

Along with Mahony and Brehl, Pitt-Johnstown got six kills from Erminio, five kills and seven digs from Wierman, and four kills and four digs from Sumner.

Allsion Mondorff finished with 22 set assists, seven digs, and a pair of aces, while
Jessica Dillon had 10 assists in the sweep. In addition,
Devan Orr had a match-high 23 digs, and three aces for Pitt-Johnstown.

Gomish's match-high nine kills led the way for the Bald Eagles, who dropped to 2-13 overall and 1-6 in the PSAC Central Division.

Pitt-Johnstown will host PSAC matches against Kutztown on Friday at 7 p.m., and East Stroudsburg on Saturday at 1 p.m., before traveling to a non-conference match at defending NCAA Division II National Champions Wheeling Jesuit (WV) University on October 18.
