The Pitt-Johnstown men's soccer team got a goal and an assist from
Haven Mackie and climbed out to a three-goal second half lead on its way to a 4-2 non-conference victory over Shepherd (WV) University, Tuesday afternoon in Shepherdstown, W.Va. The Mountain cats improved to 2-7 on the year.

Pitt-Johnstown jumped out to a 1-0 lead when Mackie finished
John Lopez's pass 14 minutes into the match, before
Colin Harrison's goal off an assist from Mackie increased it to 2-0 six minutes later.

Shepherd came back to cut the deficit to one at the half on Callum Ward's goal in the 33
rd minute, but the Mountain Cats came out and added two more goals in the 61
st and 68
th minutes to extend their lead to three.

Colin Michalski finished
A.J. McNary's assist 16 minutes into the second half, and
Erik Etter scored unassisted in the 68
th minutes to make it 4-1.

The Rams tried to get back in it and narrowed it to 4-2 on a goal from Justin Daniels with just under 11 minutes to play, but that was as close as Pitt-Johnstown would let it get.

Nate Kleya picked-up the win in goal for Pitt-Johnstown after facing 19 shots, making five saves, and allowing two goals.

Jacob Clements allowed all four goals for the Rams, who dropped to 1-9-0 on the year. Clements saw 33 Mountain Cat shots and made eight saves.

Pitt-Johnstown ends a stretch of seven straight road matches with a non-conference match at Washington Adventist (MD) on Wednesday and a PSAC match at Lock Haven on Saturday. The Mountain Cats will play their next home match against Daemen (NY) on October 11 at 1:30 p.m. at the Pitt-Johnstown Soccer Field.
