For this second time this season,
Colin Michalski netted an overtime goal to lift the Pitt-Johnstown men's soccer team to a victory. After doing it against Shippensburg on September 13, Michalski did it again Wednesday night to give the Mountain Cats a 3-2 double overtime non-conference win at Washington Adventist (MD). Pitt-Johnstown has won its last two matches and improved to 3-7-0 on the season.
Haven Mackie's rebound off of
A.J. McNary's shot bounced off the crossbar and into the net to put the Mountain Cats in front, 1-0, in the 34th minute.
Washington Adventist knotted it at one 24 minutes into the second half, before
D.J. Vogelman's unassisted goal made it 2-1 four minutes later.
The Shock battled back to tie it at two on Abenezer Zewdie's goal in the 79th minute, but Pitt-Johnstown was able to win it in the second overtime. After Vogelman's free-kick was saved,
Colin Harrison took the rebound, crossed it through the box to Michalski, who netted the match-winner in the 103rd minute.
Nate Kleya picked-up the win in goal for the Mountain Cats. Kleya saw 18 Washington Adventist shots, made six saves, and allowed two goals.
Washington Adventist slipped to 4-4-0 with the loss.
Pitt-Johnstown travels to a PSAC match at Lock Haven on Saturday to close out a stretch of seven straight road matches, before hosting a non-conference match against Daemen (NY) on Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at the Pitt-Johnstown Soccer Field.
