Marissa Erminio had a match-high 19 kills to help the Pitt-Johnstown volleyball team battled back from a 2-sets-to-none deficit, but Edinboro held off the Lady Cats, 15-11, in the fifth set to secure a PSAC victory, Saturday afternoon in Edinboro. Pitt-Johnstown, which had its four-match winning streak snapped, slipped to 7-5 overall and 1-1 in the PSAC Central Division.

After dropping the first two sets 25-20 and 25-17, Pitt-Johnstown earned 25-18 and 25-17 wins of its own, before the Fighting Scots closed it out with the 15-11 victory in the fifth set.

Erminio's 19 kills paced three Lady Cats who finished in double figures in kills.Â
Kendall Mahony had 13 kills, three blocks and three service aces, while
Cambria Wierman added 10 kills, three aces, and nine digs.Â
Maura Brehl collected eight kills, four blocks and a dozen digs, and
Anna Johns chipped-in eight kills.

Pitt-Johnstown also got 45 set assists and 15 digs from
Allison Mondorff, 19 digs from
Devan Orr, and 10 digs from
Delaney Roman in the five-set loss.

Victoria Severo's 16 kills to lead Edinboro. Challen Litweiler had 14 kills, and Latoya Hutchinson tallied 12 kills for the Fighting Scots, who ran their winning streak to nine matches and improved to 9-4 overall and 2-0 in the PSAC Northwest Division.

Pitt-Johnstown will make its 2016 home debut with Homecoming Weekend conference matches against Mercyhurst on Friday at 7 p.m. and Gannon on Saturday at 1 p.m. in the Sports Center.
