Division I nationally-ranked Saint Francis University broke open a six-point game midway through the third quarter and outscored the Pitt-Johnstown by 28 points the rest of the way in a 94-60 exhibition victory, Thursday night at the Stokes Center/DeGol Arena in Loretto.  Alexis Harris finished with a double-double of 12 points and a game-high 13 rebounds to pace three Pitt-Johnstown players who scored in double figures.

Tori Moreland and Gabrielle Smith each scored 11 points in the first half to keep Pitt-Johnstown in it at 44-22.  Pitt-Johnstown was able to narrow the gap to six in the third quarter, but the Red Flash was too much and pulled away for the 34-point win.

Along with Harris, Moreland had 13 points and five rebounds, and Smith tallied a dozen points and eight rebounds to lead Pitt-Johnstown.  Nicole Olkosky scored six points and pulled down 12 rebounds, while Alexis Hartwick chipped-in eight points off the bench for Pitt-Johnstown.

Jessica Kovatch poured in a game-high 19 points to lead a balanced attack Saint Francis that saw six players score in double figures.

Pitt-Johnstown opens the 2017-18 regular season with games against Shaw (NC) University and Winston-Salem State (NC) University at the Winston-Salem Conference Challenge on November 11 and 12.  Pitt-Johnstown will makes its home debut and tip-off the PSAC schedule with doubleheaders with the Mountain Cats against Bloomsburg University on November 18 and East Stroudsburg University on November 19.  Both home doubleheaders are scheduled to start at 1 p.m. in the Sports Center.
