Millersville, PA

4979Isaac Vescovi scored a game-high 25 points, including 19 in the first half, and grabbed nine rebounds to become Pitt-Johnstown's 29th 1,000-point scorer in a 76-67 PSAC Crossover victory at Millersville University, Sunday afternoon.  The Mountain Cats evened their record at 4-4 overall and 2-2 in the PSAC Western Division.

It was all Vescovi and the Mountain Cats in the early going.  Vescovi, who needed 22 points to reach 1,000 for his career, scored 17 points in the first 11 minutes to help Pitt-Johnstown race out to a 22-point lead.

Vescovi's basket and Dale Clancy's 3-pointer gave Pitt-Johnstown a 21-4 lead at the 13-minute mark.  Drew Magestro and Josh Wise each hit 3-pointers, and Vescovi scored in the paint to increase the lead to 32-10 at 9:08.

Millersville scored the next four, but Vescovi's made a pair of free-throws to give him 19 in the half and get the lead back out to 22.

The Marauders tried to get back in it and got a pair of 3-pointers from Jamal Washington and a tip-in from Jordan Greene in a 13-3 run over the next four minutes to narrow the gap to 39-17.

Pitt-Johnstown answered with a jumper from Levi Masua to push the lead back up to 16, but Greene's 3-pointer with time running down got Millersville to within 12 at 43-30 at the half.

Back-to-back 3-pointers from Conrad Chambers early in the second half cut Millersville's deficit to 46-38, but Pitt-Johnstown responded with a 12-1 run, capped by baskets from Vescovi and Clancy, to rebuild the lead to 58-39 with 13:31 to play.

Then, with Pitt-Johnstown still leading by 15 with 10:14 left, Vescovi scored in the paint to record his 22nd and 23rd points to become Pitt-Johnstown's 29th 1,000-point scorer.

Millersville got the lead down to 10 and got a basket from Marcus Adkison with nine seconds to go to set the final at 76-67.

Vescovi posted game-highs 25 points on 11-22 shooting and nine rebounds, while Clancy had 18 points, five rebounds, and four assists to pace the Mountain Cats.  Masua tallied 14 points and eight rebounds, while Wise had nine points, seven rebounds, and four assists.  Pitt-Johnstown also got eight points and four rebounds from Megestro.
