The top-ranked Pitt-Johnstown wrestlers used three falls and a pair of technical fall wins to down Centenary (NJ) University in Saturday's opening round of the Rutgers Quad Match.
 
Seventh-ranked Brendan Howard pinned Dylan Luciano at 5:50 at 125 lbs. to give the Mountain Cats a quick 6-0 lead, before No. 1-ranked Tyler Warner won a 12-0 major decision over Jacy Jones at 133 lbs.
 
Pitt-Johnstown increased it to 18-0 on Jacob's 18-3 technical fall win over Cameron Bruffy and 141 lbs., and No.1-ranked Chris Eddins' 7-0 decision over Ryan Anderson at 149 lbs.
 
A win by Stanley Wojdylak over Jacob Smith at 157 lbs. got Centenary on the board, but No. 2-ranked Devin Austin followed with an 18-2 technical fall win over Jeremy Nurnberger at 165 lbs., and fourth-ranked Brock Biddle pinned Haakon Matthewson at 1:21 in the 174-lb. bout to build the lead to 29-3.
 
The Mountain Cat kept it going.  After No.3-ranked Connor Craig won by forfeit at 184 lbs., Alex Delp dealt Justin Hopman a 3-1 loss at 197 lbs., and Allan Beattie closed out the 44-3 win by pinning Jase Crouse at 1:48 in at 285 lbs.
 
Pitt-Johnstown travels to the Northeast Duals in Troy, NY on Saturday and to the Northeast Tournament on November 10.  The Mountain Cats will make their 2019-20 home debut with matches against No. 15 Kutztown on November 22 and Findlay (OH) on November 23.
