After wrestling eight straight matches on the road, the top-ranked Pitt-Johnstown wrestlers made their 2019-20 home debut and got falls from national champions Chris Eddins (149 lbs.) and Connor Craig (184 lbs.) in a 31-12 PSAC victory over Kutztown, Friday night in the Sports Center.  The Mountain Cats are now 7-2 overall and 3-0 in the PSAC.
 
Pitt-Johnstown and Kutztown split the first two bouts.  At 125 lbs., seventh-ranked  Brendan Howard gave the Mountain Cats a 3-0 lead with a 10-4 win over Matt Wilde, before the Golden Bears tied it with Collin Wick's 9-3 decision over Matt Siszka at 133 lbs.
 
However, Jacob Ealy scored a 16-0 technical fall at 2:52 over Mike Albergo at 141 lbs., and two-time national champion and No. 1-ranked Eddins took just 2:45 to pin Mike Cusick at 149 lbs. to give Pitt-Johnstown a 14-3 advantage.
 
After an 11-3 major decision win by Nate Smith at 157 lbs. increased the Mountain Cat lead to 18-3, Kutztown's 11^th-ranked Chad Haegele won by injury default at 4:45 over Gage Thomas to cut the Golden Bears' deficit to 18-9.
 
The Mountain Cats bounced back when fourth-ranked Brock Biddle dealt Connor Rogovich a 13-2 major decision loss at 174 lbs., and 2019 national champion and third-ranked Craig won by fall at 3:30 over James Pott at 184 lbs. to extend it to 28-9 and put the match out of reach.
 
After Alex Delp's 7-4 win at 197 lbs. made it 31-9, Kutztown's defending national champion and no. 1-ranked Andrew Dunn, Jr. held off Allan Beattie, 4-2, at 285 lbs. to set the final at 31-12.
 
With the loss, Kutztown is now 1-1 overall and 1-1 in the PSAC.
 
Pitt-Johnstown will host Findlay (OH) on Saturday at 7 p.m. in the Sports Center, before visiting ninth-ranked Ashland (OH) on December 7.
