Womens' Soccer to Host IUP For PSAC Match on Saturday

Johnstown, PA

The Pitt-Johnstown women's soccer team will host PSAC-rival Indiana (PA) on Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Pitt-Johnstown Soccer Field, before hitting the road for a pair of conference games next week.

Pitt-Johnstown comes in at 1-5-0 overall and 1-4-0 in the PSAC West under second-year Coach Vito Addalli.  The Mountain Cats suffered a 2-1 PSAC loss at Seton Hill last Saturday and a 3-0 conference loss to Mercyhurst on Wednesday at the Pitt-Johnstown Soccer Field.

Coach Adel Heder's (19th year) IUP Crimson Hawks are overall 3-2-0 overall and 2-2-0 in the PSAC following last Saturday's 1-0 overtime victory against Gannon and Wednesday's 3-1 loss at Slippery Rock.  Mahogany Willis accounted for both IUP goals.

Last year, the Crimson Hawks came to Johnstown to open the season on August 30 and earned a 3-2 overtime win.  Emily Pennell and Brooke Vollmer scored goals for Pitt-Johnstown, but Willis' goal in the 97th minute gave IUP the victory.

The Mountain Cats travel to PSAC matches at  California (PA) on Wednesday and Edinboro next Saturday, before hosting a non-conference match against Salem (WV) on Oct. 9 at 4 p.m.
