Brock Biddle Places Sixth, Jacob Ealy Places Eighth at National Wrestling Championships

Biddle, BrockPitt-Johnstown's Brock Biddle placed sixth and 174 lbs. and Jacob Ealy placed eighth at 149 lbs. at this weekend's NCAA Division II National Wrestling Championships in St. Louis, MO to give the Mountain Cat wrestling program two more All-Americans.

As a team, Pitt-Johnstown tied for 22nd-place with Adams State with 12.5 points.
 
SATURDAY'S MATCHES
Ealy, seeded eighth at 149 lbs., lost by fall at :32 to Nebraska-Kearney's in the third round of the consolations, then suffered a 3-0 decision loss to second-seeded Kyle Rathman (Minnesota State) in the seventh-place match.  EAly went 2-3 with a major decision and a decision at the national championships.
 
FRIDAY'S MATCHES
Ealy dealt Indianapolis' Logan Bailey a 16-3 major decision loss in the opening round, before top-seeded Gavin Londoff (Lindenwood), held off Ealy, 5-1, in the Quarterfinals.  Ealy bounced back with a 12-7 decision win over Lake Erie's Sean O'Hearon in the second round of the consolations to set up the match with Turner Ealy, Jacob(Nebraska-Kearney) to begin the day on Saturday.
 
Biddle, the third seed at 174 lbs., began Saturday's matches with an 8-7 win over Queens (NC) Noah Curreri in the third round of the consolations.  An 11-4 setback to Ashland's (OH) fifth-seeded Daniel Beemer in the consolation semifinal sent him to the fifth-place match where sixth-seeded Andrew Sams (Indianapolis), who defeated Biddle 2-1 in the quarterfinals, dealt Biddle an 9-4 loss.  Biddle finished the national championships at 1-3.
 
FRIDAY'S MATCHES
Biddle received a bye in the first round, then suffered a tough, 2-1, decision loss to sixth-seeded Andrew Sams (Indianapolis) in the quarterfinals.  A bye in the second round of the consolations set up the meeting with Curreri (Queens) in Saturday's first match.
 
Siszka, MattSenior Matt Siszka (125 lbs.) made his first appearance at the National Championships, and was 0-2 on Friday.  Siszka lost a 4-1 decision to seventh-seeded Trenton McManus (Minnesota State) in the first round, received a bye in the first round of the consolations, and an 8-2 loss to No.1-seeded Isaiah De La Cerda (Adams State) in the second round of the consolations.
