The Pitt-Johnstown baseball team will wrap-up its four-game PSAC Western Division series against California (PA) with a doubleheader, Saturday afternoon Sargent's Stadium at the Point.  Games are scheduled for 1 and 3 p.m.

Prior to Friday's games at California (PA), Coach Todd Williams and the Mountain Cats were 12-8 overall and 8-4 in the PSAC West after taking 3-of-4 from Indiana (PA) last weekend.  The Mountain Cats swept the Crimson Hawks on Friday at Sargent's Stadium at the Point.  Dylan Heid, the PSAC West Co-Pitcher of the Week, fanned 11 in a two-hit 14-0 win, before Owen McKeever drove in three in a 10-run second inning that led Pitt-Johnstown to a 10-6 win.  On Saturday in Indiana, IUP took the opener 11-2, but strong pitching from Brady Walker and Raymond Watt lifted the Mountain Cats to a 3-1 victory.

California (PA), under 25th-year Coach Mike Conte, comes it at 16-8 overall and 7-4 in the PSAC West after splitting four games with Mercyhurst last weekend.  On Friday in Erie, the Vulcans took game one, 4-3, before suffering a 7-4 loss in game two.  California (PA) won Saturday's opener in Washington, 9-6, then dropped the finale, 4-2.

Since 2014 Pitt-Johnstown holds a 17-7 advantage over the Vulcans.  In 2019, California (PA) took three-of-four- games from the Mountain Cats.  On April 6, 2018, the Vulcans earned 4-2 and 8-4 wins in Washington, Pa., before taking the opener in Johnstown, 8-5, two days later.  Pitt-Johnstown was able to pick up a 6-4 victory in the finale.

Pitt-Johnstown opens a four-game PSAC Western Division series against Slippery Rock on Friday at 1 and 3 p.m. at Sargent's Stadium at the Point, before traveling to Slippery Rock next Saturday to wrap-up the series.
