The Pitt-Johnstown baseball team will begin four-game PSAC Western Division series against Slippery Rock with a doubleheader, Friday afternoon at Sargent's Stadium at the Point. Games are scheduled for 1 and 3 p.m.

Coach Todd Williams, lost three-out-of-four to California (PA) last weekend and comes in at 13-11 overall and 9-7 in the PSAC West. On Friday in California,
Dylan Heid tossed a two-hitter and struck out 12, but the Vulcans earned a 2-0 win in the opener, before completing the sweep with an 11-6 win. On Saturday,
Chase Vargo and
Lennox Pugh combined for five RBI to lead Pitt-Johnstown to a 9-6 win in game one at Sargent's Stadium at the Point. The Vulcans answered with a 9-3 victory in the series finale.

Coach Jeff Messer's (36
th year) Slippery Rock squad comes it at 14-5 overall and 5-3 in the PSAC. The Rock had its series against Seton Hill and Clarion postponed. Slippery Rock last played on April 5 and 6 when it split four conference games with Gannon. On April 5 in Erie, Gannon secured 7-4 and 5-4 wins, but The Rock bounced back with 5-4 and 4-3 victories in Slippery Rock on April 6.

Since 2014 Pitt-Johnstown and Slippery Rock have met 32 times, and the Rock holds a narrow 17-15 advantage. In 2019, Pitt-Johnstown swept Slippery Rock, 4-3, and 9-2, at Point Stadium on April 13.

Pitt-Johnstown wraps-up the four-game PSAC series against the Rock on Saturday in Slippery Rock, before traveling to Gannon on April 30 to begin a home-and-home conference series with the Golden Knights.
