Luke Cimakasky placed in a pair of events, including second in the Mile Run, and
Chris Colligan finished as the runner-up in the High Jump to lead a strong showing by the Pitt-Johnstown men's indoor track and field team at Saturday's Edinboro University Al Hall Freedom Games.
Cimakasky's time of 4:36.16 in the was was good enough for a second-place showing and his time of 2:04.32 in the 800-Meter Run gave hime a fifth-place finish, while Colligan placed second in the High Jump at 1.85 Meters.
In other track events,
Cristian Thornton (6th, 52.79),
Logan Williams (52.80), and
Blake Lauper (52.99) all placed in the 400-Meter Run, and the 4x400-Meter Relay Team of Thornton, Williams, Lauper and
Tyler Spaid finished second at 3:39.28.
Along with Colligan, Jacob Mann secured a four-place finish in the High Jump (1.80 Meters), and
Clay Engle and
Demetri Miller each qualified for the PSAC Indoor Championships in the Triple Jump. Engle placed fourth with a jump of 13.04 Meters and and Miller was fifth at 13.00 Meters.
The Mountain Cats also got third and fourth-place finishes from
Jaylen Cooper (14.59 Meters) and
Hunter Lindsay (14.54 Meters) in the Weight Throw.
Pitt-Johnstown travels to the Youngstown State (OH) University Invitational on Friday and to the Youngstown State Mid-Major Invitational on January 28 and 29.
