
Four Mountain Cat athletes hit Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference qualifying marks at the Youngstown State University Collegiate Invitational.
Luke Cimakasky became a new PSAC qualifier in the one mile run with his time of 4:28.72. This time landed him at 29
th place on the day.
The other athletes that hit their marks were
Chris Colligan, who placed 10
th in the high jump with a height of 1.85 meters,
Clay Engle, who finished 11
th in triple jump with his 13.12 meter attempt, and
Demetri Miller who placed 13
th, also in triple jump. Miller jumped 12.91 meters.
Pitt-Johnstown also finished in the top twenty in four other events. Christian Thornton's time of 51.47 earned him 17
th in the 400 meter run. The team of
Logan Williams,
Andrew Jeffery, Christian Thornton, and
Tyler Spaid took home 11
th place in the 4x400 meter relay. A pair of Mountain Cats finished in the top 20 in the weight throw as
Hunter Lindsay's 13.9 meter toss was good for 12
th place and
Jaylen Cooper's distance of 13.29 earned him a 16
th place finish.
The Mountain Cats travel back to Youngstown, Ohio on the 28th of January to partake in the 2022 Youngstown State University Mid-Major Invitational. After that, Pitt-Johnstown goes to Alliance, Ohio for the University of Mount Union – Jim Wuske Invitational on February 5th.
