The Pitt-Johnstown Men's Track and Field team continued to get impressive performances out of their jumpers at this year's Youngstown State University National Mid-Major Invitational.
Jacob Mann finished 1
st in the unseeded high jumper with a height of 1.91 meters. This mark earned him a spot at the Pennsylvania State Athletics Conference meet.
Chris Colligan took home 5
th in the seeded high jump with a mark of 1.95 meters. In the triple jump, two Mountain Cat's placed in the top fifteen.
Clay Engle jumped 13.02 meters which earned him 8
th place while
Demetri Miller took home 13
th with his 12.32 meter jump.
In the weight throw,
Hunter Lindsay finished 8
th with his throw of 14.83 meters. In the 200-meter dash,
Cristian Thornton finished 23
rd with a time of 22.93 seconds while
Andrew Jeffery placed 28
th with a time of 23.05 seconds.
Three athletes finished in the top 30 of the 400-meter run.
Logan Williams finished 21
st (51.93 seconds),
Blake Lauper earned 23
rd (52.04 seconds), and
Cristian Thornton landed 26
th (52.29 seconds).
Pitt-Johnstown travels to Alliance, Ohio to take part in the University of Mount Union (OH): Jim Wuske Invitational on February 5th before heading back to Ohio on February 19th to partake in the Kent State University Tune-Up Meet. That will be their last meet of the regular season before the 2022 PSAC Indoor Track and Field Championships on the weekend of February 26th.
