Soccer Teams to Host Slippery Rock on Saturday; Men Set to Recognize Eight Seniors

The Pitt-Johnstown men's and women's soccer teams will host a PSAC Western Division doubleheader against Slippery Rock on Saturday at the Pitt-Johnstown Soccer Field.  The women will kick off at noon prior to the men's Senior Day match against the Rock at 2:20 p.m.
 
Head Coach Vito Addalli and women's squad comes into the match at 4-6-3 overall and 4-5-2 in the PSAC West following a 6-0 setback at Mercyhurst on Wednesday.  The Mountain Cats also suffered a 2-1 loss at California (PA) on Saturday.  Emily Esser accounted for the Pitt-Johnstown goal against the Vulcans.
 
Slippery Rock, 4-2-8 overall and 3-2-7 in the PSAC West under Head Coach Jessica Giegucz (8th year), is coming off of three consecutive draws, including a 1-1- draw at Indiana (PA) on Wednesday.  Libby Zacharyasz scored the Rock's goal, while made four saves in net against the Crimson Hawks.
 
On September 17, Pitt-Johnstown visited Slippery Rock and came away with a 2-1 victory behind goals from Morgan Kost and Haley Neidig.  Morgan Sarver accounted for the Rock's goal.
 
The Mountain Cats host a PSAC West match against Clarion on Wednesday at 4 p.m., before celebrating Senior Day next Saturday with a conference match against Seton Hill at noon.  Both matches are scheduled to be played at the Pitt-Johnstown Soccer Field.
       
Coach Eric Kinsey and the Pitt-Johnstown men's soccer program will recognize the 2022 seniors…Mario Abadir, Adan Cabrera Perez, Jerel Joseph, Alek Laurento, Brock Loevlie, Mitch Snowden, Evan Ulrich, and Gio Valforte.
 
Pitt-Johnstown, 1-9-1 overall and 0-6-0 in the PSAC West, suffered a 3-1 loss to Seton Hill on Wednesday.  Evan Ulrich scored off of Adan Cabrera-Perez's corner kick to account for the Mountain Cats' goal.
 
Coach Kevin Wilhelm's (5th season) Slippery Rock squad is 4-7-1 overall and 2-4-0 in conference-play following a 1-0 loss at Gannon on Wednesday.  Rock goalkeeper Hossam Aly made six saves.
 
On September 17, the Mountain Cats made the trip to Slippery Rock and suffered a 4-1 setback.  Alexzander Toto's penalty kick accounted for Pitt-Johnstown's goal.  Joe Skillicorn and Shaun Spencer each had a goal and an assist for the Rock.
 
Pitt-Johnstown travels to a PSAC match at Mercyhurst next Saturday, before returning home to host a California (PA) in the 2022 home finale on October 26.
