The 2022 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships were held this past weekend, February 26
th and 27
th, at the Mike S. Zafirovski Sports and Recreation Dome on the campus of Edinboro University. The Mountain Cats had many finishers inside the top fifteen.
In the 4x400 meter relay, the team of Andrew Jeffrey,
Logan Williams,
Blake Lauper, and Christian Thornton, finished in 8
th place.
Christian Thornton finished 12
th in the first round of the 200-meter dash with a time of 22.82 seconds. Andrew Jeffrey placed 14
th in this race with a time of 22.91 Neither progressed to the finals.
In the first round of the 400-meter run, Christian Thornton finished 10
th with a time of 51.07. He did not progress to the finals.
Luke Cimakasky finished 14
th overall in the mile run with a time of 4:30.83.
In the 60-meter hurdles,
Charlie Levander ran a time of 9.11 seconds. This earned him an 11
th place spot at this meet and the 3
rd best time in program history.
Tyler Spaid also performed well in this event, placing 13
thoverall and 6
th all time in program history with his time of 9.3 seconds.
Chris Colligan tied for 5
th in the high jump with his mark of 1.92 meters. While Jacob Mann's jump of 1.87 meters was good enough for 12
th.
In the triple jump,
Clay Engle finished 13
th with a jump of 13.05 meters and
Demetri Miller finished 14
th with a jump of 12.3 meters
In the weight throw,
Hunter Lindsay and
Jaylen Cooper finished in 11
th and 12
th place, respectively. Lindsay's top throw was 14.51 meters while Cooper's was 14.19 meters.
2022 NCAA Division II Indoor Track and Field Championships are to be held March 11th and 12th in Pittsburgh, Kansas.
