After playing 13 straight games on the road to open the season,
Head Coach Todd Williams' Pitt-Johnstown Mountain Cat baseball team will make its 2022 home debut on Saturday with a non-conference doubleheader against Salem (WV) University. Game one is scheduled for 1 p.m. at Johnstown's Point Stadium.

The Mountain Cats are 7-5-1 after last weekend's three-game series at 19
th-ranked East Stroudsburg. After suffering a 7-2 loss in game one of the series, Pitt-Johnstown used strong pitching from
Rodney Shultz and
Ben Briggs, and a solo homer from
Lennox Pugh to take game two, 7-4. The Warriors closed out the series with a 12-8 victory.

Salem, under second-year
Head Coach J.T. Heenan, was 4-14 prior to Friday's non-conference game at Mercyhurst. Â The Tigers also 9-8 and 6-0 losses to Bluefield State (WV) on Tuesday.Â
Trey Hissam had two hits and drove in two, while
Alex Harper added a pair of hits, an RBI, and two runs in Tuesday's opener.

Pitt-Johnstown holds a 6-2 advantage in the all-time series. The teams have not met since 2011 when the Tigers swept the Mountain Cats, 7-6 and 9-5 at Point Stadium.

After traveling to Salem on Sunday to complete the series, Pitt-Johnstown will open PSAC West play with a four-game series against Seton Hill. The Mountain Cats travel to Greensburg to begin the series on Friday, before hosting a doubleheader against the Griffins at Point Stadium next Saturday starting at 1 p.m.
