The Pitt-Johnstown baseball team returns home to open a four-game, home-and-home PSAC Western Division series with California (PA), Friday afternoon at Point Stadium.  Game times are scheduled for 1 and 3 p.m.

Head Coach Todd Williams' Mountain Cats enter the weekend series against California (PA) at 15-19-1 overall and 3-13 in the PSAC West.  Tuesday's non-conference game at Shippensburg was postponed due to weather.  Last weekend, Asher Corl hit three homers and Justin Turcovski added two home runs, but IUP dealt Pitt-Johnstown 14-12 and 13-3 losses to open a PSAC series in Indiana.  The Crimson Hawks completed the sweep with 6-2 and 14-7 wins in Johnstown on Saturday.

California (PA), under 25th-year Head Coach Mike Conte, is 22-13 overall and 7-9 in conference-play.  The Vulcans' non-conference game at Alderson Broaddus (WV) on Wednesday was canceled due to weather.  Cal U also suffered four PSAC West losses to Mercyhurst last weekend.  The Lakers took Friday's games 10-3 and 4-3 (8 inn.) in Washington, Pa. on last Friday, before completing the sweep with 7-0 and 7-2 wins in Erie on Saturday.

Last season, the Vulcans took three of the four games from the Mountain Cats.  On April 16 in Washington, Cal U earned 2-0 and 11-6 wins.  The next day at Point Stadium, Lennox Pugh and Chase Vargo combined for five RBI to lead Pitt-Johnstown to a 9-6 victory in game one.  The Vulcans took the nightcap, 9-3.

Pitt-Johnstown will close out the PSAC series with the Vulcans with a pair of games at Wild Things Stadium in Washington on Saturday, before visiting Slippery Rock to begin a four-game conference series next Friday.
