Baseball Set To Host Non-Conference Game Against Bloomsburg, Tuesday at Point Stadium

Pitt-Johnstown, coming off of a four-game PSAC Western Division split with Clarion over the weekend, will host a non-conference, nine-inning game against Bloomsburg, Tuesday afternoon at Point Stadium.  First pitch is scheduled for 1 p.m.
 
Head Coach Todd Williams and the Pitt-Johnstown Mountain Cats enter Tuesday's non-conference game against Bloomsburg with a 12-12-1 overall record.  The Mountain Cats split a four-game PSAC Western Division series with Clarion over the weekend.  On Saturday at Point Stadium, Pitt-Johnstown won the series opener, 8-2, but suffered a 3-2 loss in the nightcap.  After dropping Sunday's first game in Butler, 6-5, Pitt-Johnstown got a complete-game from Wil Fetrow and home runs from Joey Maun and Asher Corl to secure the split with an 8-2 victory.
 
Head Coach Mike Collins' Bloomsburg squad was 15-10-1 prior to wrapping-up a three-game PSAC Eastern Division series against West Chester.  The Huskies opened the series with an 8-3 loss on Saturday, then rebounded a 13-1 victory in game two.  The teams were scheduled to complete the series on Monday.
 
Pitt-Johnstown and Bloomsburg have met five times dating back to the 2014 season and the Mountain Cats hold a 3-2 advantage.  The teams split a pair of games in 2017, before the Huskies earned a 15-5 win in Bloomsburg in the last meeting on May 1, 2018.  Tyler Smith had two hits and drove in a pair and Scott Lucas added two hits and an RBI to lead the Mountain Cats.  Austin Edgette homered and drove in four, and Jared Burcin collected four RBI for Bloomsburg.
 
Pitt-Johnstown will begin a four-game PSAC West series against Mercyhurst with a doubleheader on Friday at Point Stadium, before concluding the series with a pair of games against the Lakers in Erie on Saturday.
