
The University of Pittsburgh-Johnstown Mountain Cats will compete to earn conference glory this weekend at the 2022 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Championship Meet. The meet will take place in Millersville, Pennsylvania from May 12
th to May 14
th.
Nineteen Pitt-Johnstown athletes have qualified across fourteen events.
Logan Williams goes into the meet ranked seventh in the 400-meter dash with his best time of 49.73 seconds. Williams is also set to be a part of the 4x100-meter relay team which is seeded eighth with their top time of 43.09 seconds. Andrew Jeffrey will also be a part of the 4x100-meter relay team. Jeffrey is also seeded eleventh in the 100-meter dash (11.02 seconds) and ninth in the 200-meter dash (22.21 seconds). Other potential members of the 4x100-meter relay team include
Michael Ifidon,
Marcos Lopez, and
Cristian Thornton. Thornton is also seeded sixteenth in the 200-meter dash (22.51) and thirteenth in the 400-meter dash (50.24 seconds). Thornton will be joined by Kenny Robinson,
Blake Lauper, and another Mountain Cat runner to form UPJ's 4x400-meter relay team for the meet. The team is seeded thirteenth with a top time of 3:31.36.
Luke Cimakasky is seeded nineteenth in the 1500-meter run with a seed time of 4:01.48.
The Pitt-Johnstown throwers that will be competing at this meet are
Bryce Batche (Discus – thirteenth seed – 41.82 meters),
Cole Weist (Javelin – eleventh seed – 53.51 meters), and
Hunter Lindsay (Javelin – fourteenth seed – 53.01 meters and Discus – sixteenth seed – 39.92 meters).
Marcello Legister will be running the 110-meter hurdles and 400-meter hurdles. He is currently seeded eighteenth (17.38 seconds) and seventeenth (59.79 seconds) in each of those events.
Charlie Levander will also be competing in those two same events. He is seeded fifteenth in the 110s (16.40 seconds) and ninth in the 400-meter hurdles (57.68 seconds). Rounding out the Pitt-Johnstown hurdlers is
Tyler Spaid. Spaid is the fourteenth seed in the 110s (16.10 seconds) and eighth in the 400-meter hurdles (57.20 seconds).
Chris Colligan will compete in the high jump where he is tied for the ninth seed going into the meet with his top mark of 1.9 meters. Joining Colligan in the tie for the ninth seed in the high jump will be
Clay Engle. Engle will also be competing in the triple jump where his top mark of 13.69 meters has him seeded eighth. Jacob Mann is tied for the fifteenth seed in the high jump with his top mark of 1.85 meters.
Solomon Adeoti will compete in the long jump where his top mark of 6.61 meters was good enough for a thirteenth seed.
Demetri Miller will join Engle in the triple jump. Miller is tied for the thirteenth seed with his top mark of 13.30 meters.
