Winners of three straight matches, the Pitt-Johnstown women's soccer team will host a PSAC Western Division match against Indiana (PA), Wednesday at 4 p.m. at the Pitt-Johnstown Soccer Field.
Coach Vito Addalli and his Pitt-Johnstown squad made it three straight wins and stand in third place in the PSAC West at 3-2-2 overall and 3-1-1 in conference-play following Saturday's 2-1 win at Slippery Rock.
Morgan Kost and
Haley Neidig each scored goals, and
Sachi Negri made 10 saves for Pitt-Johnstown. The Mountain Cats also earned a 1-0 win at Clarion on Wednesday.
IUP, 1-1-3 overall and 1-1-3 in the PSAC West under first-year
Head Coach Noreen Herlihy, got a pair of goals from
Kristen Finnerty in a 3-1 win over Edinboro on Wednesday. The Crimson Hawks then suffered a 1-0 loss at Clarion on Saturday.
IUP holds a 7-4 lead in the series that dates back to 2008. Last season, the teams split a pair of games. After the Crimson Hawks earned a 5-3 win in Indiana on Sept. 25, Pitt-Johnstown answered with a 2-1 win in Johnstown behind goals from
Kost and
Abby Jackson on Oct. 27.
The Mountain Cats go to Seton Hill for a PSAC West match on Saturday, before hosting a conference doubleheader with the men's team against Gannon next Wednesday. The women will kick-off the doubleheader at 1:30 p.m.
