Sitting in fourth place and battling for its first berth in the PSAC Tournament, the Pitt-Johnstown women's soccer team will host a key conference match against Edinboro University, Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Pitt-Johnstown Soccer Field.
Head Coach Vito Addalli and the Pitt-Johnstown Mountain Cats evened their overall record at 4-4-2 and improved to 4-3-1 in conference-play after knocking off PSAC West-leading Gannon, 1-0, on Wednesday.
Sophia Lamesta's goal 18 minutes in proved to be the match-winner.
Sachi Negri faced 14 shots in goal from the Golden Knights and made eight saves to record the shutout.
Edinboro, 1-6-2 overall and 1-5-2 in the PSAC West under

th year) has lost its last two matches. Last Saturday, Slippery Rock dealt the Fighting Scots a 1-0 loss, before California (PA secured a 2-0 victory on Wednesday.
Pitt-Johnstown and Edinboro have met in Edinboro on September 3 and the teams came away with a 2-2 draw.
Emily Esser and
MacKenzie Stephens accounted for the Mountain Cat goals, while
Reece Enochs and
Megan Malits scored goals for the Fighting Scots.
The Mountain Cats travel to PSAC West matches at California (PA) next Saturday and to Mercyhurst on Oct. 12, before returning home to host a conference match against Slippery Rock on Oct. 15 at noon.
