After seven consecutive road matches, the Pitt-Johnstown volleyball team will return to the Sports Center to host a pair of PSAC Western matches this weekend. On Friday, the Mountain Cats will host Slippery Rock at 6 p.m., before welcoming California (PA) on Saturday at 1 p.m.
Coach Justin Haupt and the Pitt-Johnstown Mountain Cats are 12-6 overall and 3-3 in the PSAC West. Pitt-Johnstown picked-up conference road wins at Mercyhurst and Edinboro last weekend, but suffered a 3-0 setback at Gannon on Saturday.
Slippery Rock, under 40

Coach Laurie Lokash, is 11-8 overall and 2-3 in the PSAC West after defeating California (PA) 3-1 last Friday. The Rock also dropped a 3-0 non-conference decision at Wheeling (WV) on Saturday.
Pitt-Johnstown leads the series, 9-4. However, the Rock swept two matches from the Mountain Cats last season. On Sept. 24 in Johnstown, Slippery Rock earned a 3-0 win behind
Abigail Koeller's 18 kills, before taking four-set win in Slippery Rock on Oct. 21.
Mallory Pinske had 15 kills for the Mountain Cats, and
Callie Chevelier had 19 kills for the Rock.
Thirteenth-year
Coach Peter Letourneau's California (PA) Vulcans are 6-7 overall and 1-5 in the PSAC West. The Vulcans are also scheduled to play at Clarion on Friday. California (PA) suffered a 3-1 loss to Slippery Rock last Friday and a 3-2 loss to Seton Hill last Saturday.
The Vulcans hold an 8-6 in the series that dates back to 2013. California (PA) has won the last four meetings, including two wins last year. On Sept. 16,
Allie Droneberger had 12 kills in a 3-0 sweep in the Sports Center. The Vulcans then earned a five-set victory in California on Oct. 11.
After this weekend's matches, Pitt-Johnstown visits Seton Hill for a PSAC match on Tuesday, before hosting a conference match against Edinboro next Saturday at 1 p.m. in the Sports Center.
