
Cassidy Crawford tallied 18 points, seven rebounds and five assists to lead Pitt-Johnstown to a decisive 77-56 PSAC crossover victory over Bloomsburg on Monday night in the Sports Center.
Olivia Fasick logged a significant career milestone when she became the 39th player in program history to surpass 1,000 points when she knocked down a 3-pointer in the first quarter. The senior point guard from Harrisburg, PA finished with 14 points and a game-high eight assists as the Mountain Cats won their third straight game to move to 7-2 (2-1 PSAC).
Kylah Franklin delivered a season-high 15 points on 6 of 7 from the field to pair with five rebounds. Hayden Taylor contributed 11 points, eight coming in the opening period that ended with the Mountain Cats in front 27-11.
Pitt-Johnstown shot 73% from the floor in the first and hit five 3-pointers. It finished the evening with a 56% clip from the field (29 of 52). The Mountain Cats racked up a 34-28 rebounding advantage and a 42-28 edge in points in the paint.
Bloomsburg drew within 11 on two separate occasions in the fourth, with the latter coming at the 6:20 mark. Pitt-Johnstown responded with an 8-0 rally capped by a layup from Fasick to go back up by 19 to all but seal it with roughly four minutes remaining.
Fasick's second three of the game gave her the milestone and put the Mountain Cats in front 20-8. Pitt-Johnstown held a lead as large as 21 in the first half and went into the break up 44-27.
Katelin Starr recorded a double-double with 16 points and 11 rebounds to pace the Huskies, who dropped to 3-6 (1-2 PSAC).
The Mountain Cats entertain East Stroudsburg on Tuesday at 1 p.m. in the Sports Center in the final game before Christmas break.
