The 13^th-ranked Pitt-Johnstown wrestlers used five straight wins, including a first period fall from seventh-ranked Jacob Ealy at 149 lbs. to erase an early 3-point deficit, in a 27-10 victory over No. 20 Ashland (OH), Friday night in the Sports Center.  The Mountain Cats improved to 5-1 and raised its home winning streak to 53 consecutive matches.
 
Ashland took an early 3-0 lead when 18^th-ranked Luke Acuna upset Pitt-Johnstown's seventh-ranked Trevon Gray at 125 lbs.
 
However, that lead was short-lived.  The Mountain Cats answered with five consecutive victories to build a 20-3 advantage.  The Mountain Cats quickly knotted with 14^th-ranked Byron Daubert's 9-3 decision over Tyler Masters at 133 lbs., before No. 20 Mason Myers defeated Gavin Weaver, 8-3, at 141 lbs.
 
The lead increased to 12-3 :32 seconds into the opening period in the bout at 149 lbs. when No. 7 Jacob Ealy pinned Hayden Kuhn.
 
At 157 lbs., the Mountain Cats then got a 19-4 technical fall win at 5:54 from Cooper Warshel, and 19^th-ranked Dillon Keane defeated No. 18 Sevi Garza, 9-2, at 165 lbs. to push it out to 20-3.
 
The Eagles snapped the steak with wins at 174 and 184 lbs.  Fourth-ranked Nate Barrett secured a 9-5 win over No. 16 Tony Salopek, and no.2-ranked Dan Beemer scored a 16-5 major decision over No. 20 Noah Gnibus that narrowed Ashland gap to 20-10 with two bouts remaining.
 
Pitt-Johnstown bounced back with two more wins to close it out.  At 197 lbs., eighth-ranked Dakoda Rodgers dealt Peyton Lemon an 8-1 setback and No. 8 Isaiah Vance finished thigs up with a 12-1 Major decision over Wyatt Bailey at 285 lbs.
 
With the loss, Ashland slipped to 1-3.
 
Pitt-Johnstown will host Findlay (OH) on Saturday at 2:00 p.m., before competing in the 2023 Midwest classic in Indianapolis on Dec. 16-17.
