
The Pitt-Johnstown men's and women's basketball teams celebrate Senior Day with a PSAC doubleheader against Edinboro, Saturday afternoon in the Sports Center. The women will tip-off at 1 p.m., with the men's game scheduled for 3 p.m.

Head Coach Mike Drahos and the Pitt-Johnstown women's basketball program will recognize this year's seniors,
Makalyn Clapper and
Ashley Norling, while Head Coach
Bob Rukavina and the Mountain Cat men's program will recognize
Joe Batt,
Jared Jakubick,
John Paul Kromka,
Caiden Landis,
Drew Magestro, and
Jacob Shuagis.
The Pitt-Johnstown women, 14-11 overall and 11-8 in the PSAC, look to bounce back from a narrow, 63-58, loss at Mercyhurst on Wednesday. The Mountain Cats stormed back from a 17-point deficit to knot it in the third quarter, but the Lakers were able to hold on.
Olivia Fasick collected 18 points, five rebounds, and a game-high four assists, while
Taylor Hayden scored 12 points, and
Norling added a double-double of 11 points and a game-high 11 rebounds for Pitt-Johnstown. The Mountain Cats also claimed a season sweep over Seton Hill with an 85-71 win in the Sports Center last Saturday.
Edinboro, under fifth-year
Head Coach Callie Wheeler, has dropped its last two games and comes in at 15-9 overall and 12-7 in the PSAC. After suffering a 78-63 loss at Slippery Rock last Saturday, the Fighting Scots fell, 71-52, at Indiana (PA) on Wednesday.
Rana Elhusseini's 16 points and five rebounds and
Morgan Gentile's 11 points led Edinboro against the Crimson Hawks.
Bella Burrelli also had nine points and 10 boards for the Fighting Scots.
Pitt-Johnstown and Edinboro have split the last six games in the series. In the most recent meeting on Jan. 25, the Mountain Cats traveled to Erie and suffered a 76-55 loss.
Peyton Alazaus scored 19 points and pulled down five rebounds and Norling added 15 points and a game-high eight boards to lead Pitt-Johnstown. The Fighting Scots were led by
Elhusseini's game 25 points and
Burrelli's 18 points and six rebounds.

The Pitt-Johnstown men, ranked seventh in the D2SIDA Atlantic Region Rankings, comes in at 18-7 overall and 14-5 in the PSAC. The Mountain Cats were winners of seven of their last eight games entering Wednesday's match-up at No. 19/20-ranked Mercyhurst.
Ryan Smith scored 22 points, Kromka had 18 points, and
Andrew Shull added 16 points, but the Lakers were able to secure an 85-69 victory.
Kromka, Pitt-Johnstown's all-time leader in blocks with 303, ranks third on the Mountain Cat All-time Scoring List (1,841 points), third on the all-time rebounding list (899 rebounds), and 15
th on the Pitt-Johnstown All-Time List. (291 assists).
Magestro is currently seventh on the all-time 3-point field goals list with (185), and
Batt needs five points to become the Mountain Cats' 34
th 1,000-point scorer.
Sixth-year
Head Coach Pat Cleary's Edinboro Fighting Scots have suffered eight straight losses and are 5-19 overall and 3-16 in the PSAC following Wednesday's 78-56 setback at top-ranked Indiana (PA).
Naim Miller poured in a game-high 19 points, while
Dominique Keyes had 11 points, and
Kierell Green tallied seven points and six rebounds for the Fighting Scots.
In the recent series between the two teams, Pitt-Johnstown has won six of the last seven meetings and five straight, including a 77-63 victory in Edinboro on Jan. 25. Jakubick knocked down five 3-pointers and scored 20 points, while Batt scored 18 points to lead four Mountain Cats who scored in double figures. Edinboro was led by Green's game-highs of 21 points and 15 rebounds and
Jaden Harper's 16 points.
Pitt-Johnstown will host a PSAC doubleheader against California (PA) Wednesday evening in the Sports Center, before wrapping-up the 2023-23 regular season with conference games at Slippery Rock next Saturday.
