After making the trip to open a four-game PSAC Western Division series against Mercyhurst on Friday, the Pitt-Johnstown baseball team will return home to conclude the series with a pair of games at Point Stadium on Saturday. Game one is scheduled to start at 1 p.m.
Coach Todd Williams and the Mountain Cats were 12-20 overall and 5-7 in the PSAC West prior to Friday's games against Mercyhurst in Erie. Last weekend, the Mountain Cats took 3-of-4 conference games from Clarion, before suffering a pair of narrow non-conference losses, 12-10 and 5-4, to Bloomsburg on Tuesday at Point Stadium.
Jake Ansell went 6-for-9 with a pair of doubles and four RBI to lead Pitt-Johnstown against Bloomsburg .

th-year) Mercyhurst Lakers were 17-8 overall and 11-1 in conference-play prior to Friday's games. Last weekend, the Lakers swept a four-game PSAC West series from Gannon, before dropping a pair of non-conference games to Findlay (OH) on Tuesday.
Last season, the teams split two games in Johnstown on April 8 to open a four-game series. After losing the opener, 16-8, the Mountain Cats bounced back with a 4-3 win in game two behind
Taylor Squiric's 12 strikeouts. The Lakers swept Pitt-Johnstown, 7-2 and 1-0 in Erie on April 9.
Pitt-Johnstown hosts a non-conference game against Shippensburg on Tuesday at 3 p.m. at Point Stadium, before opening a four-game PSAC West series against Indiana (PA) with a home doubleheader on Friday starting at 1 p.m.
