     The Pitt-Johnstown baseball team will be back in action at Johnstown's Point Stadium, Friday afternoon when the Mountain Cats begin a PSAC Western Division series with a doubleheader against Clarion. Game one is scheduled for 1 p.m.

     Pitt-Johnstown, 9-17 overall and 2-6 in the PSAC West under
Coach Todd Williams, is coming off of a 3-1, non-conference victory at Shippensburg on Tuesday.Â
Garrett Prosper drove in two and five Mountain Cat pitchers held the Raiders to just one run on four hits in the nine-inning game. The Mountain Cats also suffered a four-game PSAC West sweep to Seton Hill last weekend.

Coach Doc Neiman's Clarion Golden Eagles enter the doubleheader at 7-19 overall and 1-7 in the PSAC West following a 9-3 non-conference setback to Bloomsburg on Tuesday.Â
Connor Booth collected two hits, and Scott McManamon belted a solo homer run for Clarion. Â Last weekend, Mercyhurst took four PSAC West games from the Golden Eagles.

     Since 2005, Pitt-Johnstown holds a 32-17 advantage in the series between the two teams. Last year, the Mountain Cats and Golden Eagles split four games. On April 2 in Johnstown, Pitt-Johnstown took the opener, 8-2, behind
Josh Ulery's four hits and
Justin Turcovski's home run, before Clarion took the nightcap, 3-2. The next day in Clarion, the Mountain Cats bounced back from a 5-4 loss in game one with another 8-2 win in the series finale.

Pitt-Johnstown will close out the PSAC series against the Golden Eagles with a pair of games in Clarion on Saturday, before hosting a non-conference game against Bloomsburg on Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Point Stadium.
