Todd Williams and the Pitt-Johnstown baseball team will wrap-up the 2023 home schedule with a pair of PSAC Western Division games against Slippery Rock, Thursday afternoon starting 1 p.m. at Point Stadium.
After Tuesday's non-conference game at Bloomsburg was canceled due to weather, Pitt-Johnstown comes in at 15-30 overall and 8-16 in the PSAC West. The Mountain Cats lost 3-of-4 conference games to California (PA) last weekend. In game two,
Rodney Shultz tossed a three-hit, complete-game to lead Pitt-Johnstown to a 3-0 win.
Slippery Rock was 22-23 overall and 7-17 in the PSAC West under 38

Coach Jeff Messer prior to Wednesday's non-conference game against Walsh. Slippery Rock took 3-of-4 conference games from Clarion last weekend. After suffering a 4-3 loss in the opener, 4-3, the Rock bounced back with 7-1, 8-0, and 8-2 wins over the Golden Eagles.
The Mountain Cats and the Rock split a four-game series last season. On April 29 in Slippery Rock, the Rock earned a 12-0 win in the opener, before Pitt-Johnstown bounced back with a 5-4 win in the nightcap behind
Garrett Prosper's homer and
Justin Turcovski's two RBI. The next day in Johnstown,
Ben Briggs pitched 6.2 innings and
Dylan Broderick hit a solo homer in the Mountain Cats 3-2 win in game one. Slippery Rock took the finale, 7-5.
Pitt-Johnstown will close out the series and the regular season with doubleheader at Slippery Rock on Friday.
