Head Coach Todd Williams and the Pitt-Johnstown baseball team will wrap-up the 2023 home schedule with a pair of PSAC Western Division games against Slippery Rock, Thursday afternoon starting 1 p.m. at Point Stadium.

After Tuesday's non-conference game at Bloomsburg was canceled due to weather, Pitt-Johnstown comes in at 15-30 overall and 8-16 in the PSAC West.  The Mountain Cats lost 3-of-4 conference games to California (PA) last weekend.  In game two, Rodney Shultz tossed a three-hit, complete-game to lead Pitt-Johnstown to a 3-0 win.

Slippery Rock was 22-23 overall and 7-17 in the PSAC West under 38th-year Coach Jeff Messer prior to Wednesday's non-conference game against Walsh. Slippery Rock took 3-of-4 conference games from Clarion last weekend.  After suffering a 4-3 loss in the opener, 4-3, the Rock bounced back with 7-1, 8-0, and 8-2 wins over the Golden Eagles.

The Mountain Cats and the Rock split a four-game series last season.  On April 29 in Slippery Rock, the Rock earned a 12-0 win in the opener, before Pitt-Johnstown bounced back with a 5-4 win in the nightcap behind Garrett Prosper's homer and Justin Turcovski's two RBI.  The next day in Johnstown, Ben Briggs pitched 6.2 innings and Dylan Broderick hit a solo homer in the Mountain Cats 3-2 win in game one.  Slippery Rock took the finale, 7-5.

Pitt-Johnstown will close out the series and the regular season with doubleheader at Slippery Rock on Friday.
