The Pitt-Johnstown men's and women's basketball teams will host a PSAC Western doubleheader against Indiana (PA), Wednesday evening in the Sports Center. The women will tip-off against the Crimson Hawks at 5:30, before the men's game at 7:30 p.m.
After defeating Clarion 68-56 Wednesday night in the Sports Center behind
Cassidy Crawford's 21 points and 13 rebounds,
Head Coach Mike Drahos (11
th year) and the Pitt-Johnstown Mountain Cats improved to 11-4 overall and 6-3 in the PSAC with an 80-65 win at Edinboro on Saturday. Crawford collected game-highs of 22 points and eight rebounds, and
Olivia Fasick hit six 3-pointers and finished with 21 points.
Camille Dominick also had a career-high 10 points in the victory over the Fighting Scots.
Fasick
enters the game ranked 31
st on the Pitt-Johnstown Scoring List with 1,080 points, while
Peyton Alazaus is 42 points shy of becoming the Mountain Cats' 40
th 1,000-point scorer.
Head Coach Craig Carey's (2
nd year) Indiana (PA) Crimson Hawks, ranked ninth in the D2CSC Atlantic Region Poll at 10-3 overall and 6-2 in conference-play, had their six-game winning streak snapped following Saturday's 68-52 setback at 3/4
th-ranked Gannon.
Rahmena Henderson scored 18 points, and
Nyshae' Weaver added seven points and 10 boards for the Crimson Hawks. IUP also defeated Mercyhurst, 61-41, on Wednesday.
Last year, Pitt-Johnstown and IUP split a pair of regular season games, with each team winning on its home court, before the Mountain Cats defeated the Crimson Hawks, 68-66, in the PSAC Tournament Quarterfinals on Feb. 27.
Alazaus scored 21 points, while
Ashley Norling had 19 points and seven rebounds, and Fasick tallied 13 points to pace Pitt-Johnstown.
Alana Cardona's game-highs of 22 points and 12 rebounds, and
Maria Cerro's 16 points led four Crimson Hawks who scored in double figures.

Gavin Headings recorded his second straight double-double with 23 points and 11 rebounds, while
Andy Zuchelli added 17 points and six assists to lead five Mountain Cats who scored in double figures against the Fighting Scots.
Ryan Smith (16 points),
Andrew Shull (13 points), and
Will Kromka (12 points) also scored in double figures. On Wednesday, Headings had 16 points and a career-high 17 boards, and Zuchelli netted a career-high 28 points in an 84-74, home loss to Clarion.
Head Coach Joe Lombardi's (18th-year) Indiana (PA) Crimson Hawks, 9-5 overall and 6-2 in conference-play, are coming off of an 84-58 PSAC loss at 20/14
th-ranked Gannon on Saturday.
Ethan Porterfield led the Crimson Hawks with 18 points, while
Jaylen Stewart,
KJ Rhodes, and
Josh Petteno all scored eight points. On Wednesday, IUP defeated Mercyhurst, 66-54, behind
Bryce Radford's 18 points.
Last year, IUP won a pair of tight games against the Mountain Cats. On Jan. 14 in the Sports Center Shull
scored a game-high 23 points and Smith
added 14 points and eight rebounds for Pitt-Johnstown, but the Crimson Hawks held on for a 76-71 win.
Shawndale Jones' 17 points and
Tomiwa Sulaiman's 14 points and 13 rebounds paced IUP. The Crimson Hawks then secured a 70-60 win in Indiana on Feb. 8 behind Sulaiman's 24 points and 15 boards.
John Paul Kromka had 21 points, while
Joe Batt and Smith netted 10 points apiece for the Mountain Cats.
Pitt-Johnstown will host a PSAC West doubleheader against Slippery Rock in the Sports Center on Saturday starting a 1:00, before traveling to California (PA) for a conference game next Wednesday.
