Ifidon highlights men's track and field visit to Youngstown State Invitational

Junior Michael Ifidon once again rose to the occasion when he won his initial heat and then finished 6th overall in the 60-meter dash with a time of 6.97 at the Youngstown State (OH) University Invitational on Friday.

Ifidon also punctuated his performance with an overall third place finish in the 200-meter dash with a time of 22.01, which is currently good enough for 44th in the nation.

Freshman Ryan Porch ranked third in the long jump with a 6.50-meter performance. Sophomore Hunter Johnson wasn't far behind, taking fifth place with a jump of 6.32 meters. Noah Ser collected seventh place honors in the high jump with 1.86 meters. Bridger Blankenbicker rounded out the specialists group with an eighth place mark in the pole vault event.

Cristian Thornton placed 10th in the 400-meter run with a time of 50.33 seconds. The men's 4x4 relay team that was made up of Thornton, Ifidon, Blake Lauper and Damian Blum captured fifth place after finishing with a time of 3:25.12.

Pitt-Johnstown has a week off before traveling back to Ohio for the Mount Union Wuske Invitational slated for all day on Saturday.
