The Pitt-Johnstown men's and women's basketball teams return home to host a PSAC Western doubleheader against Clarion Wednesday evening in the Sports Center.  The women will tip-off against the Golden Eagles at 5:30, before the men's game at 7:30 p.m.

Pitt-Johnstown, under Head Coach Mike Drahos' (11th year), is 9-4 overall and 4-3 in the PSAC after opening PSAC West-play with a 61-53 loss at Mercyhurst on Saturday.  Cassidy Crawford scored a game-high 22 points and pulled down seven rebounds, while Kylah Franklin scored 11 points and had five rebounds, and Peyton Alazaus added 10 points for the Mountain Cats.  Pitt-Johnstown also dealt Shippensburg a 71-61 loss in the Sports Center last Wednesday behind Alazaus' game-high 23 points and Crawford's 21 points.

Oliva Fasick enters the game ranked 32nd on the Pitt-Johnstown Scoring List with 1,054 points, one point shy of tying Janet Kartovicky (1983-87) for 31st on the list.

First-year Head Coach Danielle Fleming's Clarion Golden Eagles are 0-13 overall and 0-7 in conference-play after Saturday's 86-61 PSAC West opening loss at Edinboro.  Autumn Taylor had 16 points and seven rebounds, and Sadre'a Rougeau scored 11 points to lead Clarion.  The Golden Eagles also suffered a 75-60 home loss to Lock Haven one week ago.

Since the 2004-05 season, Clarion holds a slim, 13-12, advantage in the series, but the Mountain Cats have won seven of the last nine meetings.  Last season, the Golden Eagles earned a, 62-55, win in Clarion on Jan. 11 behind Allyson Kirby's 21 points, but Pitt-Johnstown responded with a 99-58 victory in the Sports Center on Feb. 4.  Ashley Norling's game-highs of 25 points and 12 rebounds and Crawford's 17 points paced four Mountain Cat double figure scorers.  Sierra Bermudez scored 20 points and Siara Conley tallied 16 points for Clarion.

Head Coach Bob Rukavina (35th-year) and the Pitt-Johnstown Mountain Cats are 5-8 overall and 3-4 in the conference following Saturday's PSAC West-opening, 64-57, loss at Mercyhurst.  Ryan Smith scored 13 points, Andrew Shull netted 12 points, and PSAC West Defensive Athlete of the Week Gavin Headings added eight points and a game-high nine rebounds for the Mountain Cats.  Pitt-Johnstown also dealt Shippensburg a 94-77 setback last Wednesday behind Nick Watts' career-high 21 points and five rebounds.

Clarion has lost its last three games and comes in at 5-8 overall and 3-4 in the PSAC under fifth-year Head Coach Damian Pitts.  The Golden Eagles are coming off of an 89-77 PSAC West road loss at Edinboro on Saturday.  Cam Kearney tallied a game-high 19 points, while Justice Easter (14 points), Gavin Cote (12 points), and Steve Kelly (11 points) also scored in double figures.  Last Wednesday, Clarion suffered a 66-65 home loss to Lock Haven.

Since first meeting during the 1970-71 season, Clarion holds a 35-27 advantage in the series.  However, the Mountain Cats have won 13 of the last 14 match-ups, including six straight.  Last year, John Paul Kromka scored 16 points to lead five double-figure scorers in a, 66-53, win in Clarion on Jan. 11.  The Mountain Cats completed the season sweep with an 85-75 win in the Sports Center on Feb. 4.  Shull's 22 points and Kromka's 17 points paced Pitt-Johnstown.  Kelly had a game-high 24 points and Kearney had 17 points and a game-best eight rebounds for the Golden Eagles.

Pitt-Johnstown visits Edinboro for a PSAC West game on Saturday, before hosting a conference doubleheader against Indiana (PA) next Wednesday in the Sports Center.  The women will tip-off at 5:30 p.m., with the men's games scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
