Women’s Soccer to Visit Top-Seeded Gannon in Tuesday’s PSAC Tournament Quarterfinals

The Pitt-Johnstown women's soccer team will make its first appearance in the PSAC Tournament since joining the conference in 2013 when they travel Western Division top-seeded and fifth-ranked Gannon on Tuesday.  Kick-off is set for 4 p.m. in Erie.
 
The winner of Tuesday's Quarterfinals match-up will advance to Friday's PSAC Semifinals to take on the winner of the East No. 2 West Chester/East No. 3 Kutztown match.

Pitt-Johnstown, 8-6-2 overall and 6-6-2 in conference-play under first-year Coach Aideen O'Donoghue, locked up the Western Division fourth seed with a 4-0 win over Clarion in Saturday's regular season finale.  Lydia Roman scored two goals and Haley Neidig added a goal and two assists
 
Head Coach Colin Petersen's Gannon Golden Knights closed out the regular season at 13-0-4 overall and 10-0-4 in the PSAC West after Saturday's 1-1 draw with Indiana (PA).  Grace Emanuel accounted for Gannon's goal.
 
Pitt-Johnstown and Gannon met twice during the regular season and the Golden Knights came away with a pair of wins.  On  Sept. 14 in Erie, Brooklyn Respecki and Jessie Watkins each scored goals to lead Gannon to a 2-0 victory.  Emma Morin made seven haves for the Mountain Cats.  The Golden Knights completed the season sweep with a 5-0 win behind two goals each from Emanuel and Respecki in Johnstown on Oct. 12.  Morin added seven more saves for Pitt-Johnstown.
